Quarried from sites once covered with marine life, Pacific Pearl Shell Stone is embedded with ancient corals, crustaceans and shells. It has a sandy beige coloration that is quite uniform with only slight variations that add
to the materials luster and character.
A&P has been marketing and selling this material for over 25 years as an interior and exterior product. For interior applications it is dense enough to perform nicely after it is sealed properly. For exterior applications, the honed & filled finish is perfect for clients that do not want any holes in a material for water or dirt to settle into, yet subtle enough to prevent a slippery deck when wet.
Coral Classics by A&P stocks Pacific Pearl in tiles for mud set over concrete slab as well as pavers for standard residential sand set applications.
Stock sizes are:
Any other sizes or thickness required is a special order with an approximate lead-time of 90 to 120 days from date of order.
Atlantic Shell Stone is also available in Honed Unfilled and Brushed/Antiqued by special order. Standard stock finish is Honed & Filled.
Pacific Pearl is a porous stone that should be sealed with a high quality penetrating stone or marble sealer to close its pours and keep it from staining or attracting mold or mildew and allow it to be easily maintained.
Pacific Pearls light sandy beige/white color can also be “enhanced” with a high quality stone or marble color enhancer/sealer, to bring out deeper and darker tones.
Coral Classics by A&P, recommends "Stain Proof by Dry Treat" for all flooring, interior or exterior, "40SK by Dry Treat" for cladding applications and "Intensifia" for enhanced deeper darker tones.
