Sunshine Stone is an Oolitic limestone quarried in South Florida.
This unique material is extracted from underground shallow quarries that are thousands of years old. Created from water and compression, this material is uniform in color and is available in either a white selection or a gold selection.
A very porous material with holes throughout, it has been used all over South Florida in all types of applications. Made famous in Coral Gables and South Beach, is has been and is still today, used on luxurious residential homes and estates as well as commercial hotel and retail store applications.
Wall cladding, flooring, architectural elements, stepping stones, landscape boulders and retaining walls, wall caps, coping, stair treads, fountains, fireplaces and benches are just a few of the examples.
If left exposed to weather and not sealed, this material over time will “Patina” and achieve the “Old World castle Look”. If sealed properly after install, this material can be managed and maintained and kept clean.
Coral Classics recommends Dry Treat Sealers only. Please contact us and advise what application you are using this material in for information on the correct sealer to apply to it. Sunshine is typically “cut to order” with short lead time of 7 to 30 days depending on size, thickness and quantity.
An ancient stone, that has stood the test of time in design for today’s residential and commercial markets.
Sunshine Stone is available in the following sizes:
Tiles 2” to 3” thick:
Pavers 3” thick:
Pool Coping: not recommended but available in:
Special Order Sizes: Cut to Size in small slab and solid block format
Sunshine is a very porous stone that should be sealed with a high-quality penetrating stone or marble sealer to close its pours if you wish to keep it from staining or attracting mold or mildew.
If stained, typically a simple bleach & water solution will remove it and bring the material back to its original color without damage.
If Sunshine is not sealed, the material will collect mold & mildew in the pores & holes & turn black giving the material the “Old World Castle Look” that is often sought after by Designers & Architects.
Coral Classics recommends "Dry Treat Sealer" & products.
